Position Overview:
This position performs a variety of functions within the Logistics Department, including coordinating outbound shipments to customers, aiding in the coordination of inbound/outbound shipments with our supply chain partners, and aiding in the warehousing and organization of our teff supply. You’ll be joining a fast-growing company working to deliver high quality teff and teff-based products to consumers and manufacturers. This position will work with a several departments across the company.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and arrange outbound freight shipments
- Prepare physical freight for carrier pickup
- Load and unload freight
- Audit Invoices from shipping vendors (LTL, FTL, and Small Package) for accuracy
- Work with Customer Service and Sales team to evaluate and file shipping claims
- Aid customers arranging their own freight pickups, including receiving BOLs and managing BOL email account
- Collaborating with Customer Service and Sales team to troubleshoot carrier issues
- Prepare reports for shipping volume, carrier issues, carrier claims, and other reports as assigned
- Provide help with harvest activities including but not limited to:
- Arranging and communicating with carriers for Harvest haul
- Unloading of harvest trucks
- Organizing and storing bulk teff
- Staging of outbound dirt teff loads
- Collaborating with Food Safety Team for shipping related organic program compliance items
- Collaborating with the Food Safety Team for audit preparedness
- Other related assignments or tasks, as agreed
Skills and Experience:
- Shipping/logistics or similar experience required; Agricultural trucking industry experience a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work at a fast pace within a manufacturing environment
- Forklift experience a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required (Outlook, Excel)
- High school education required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Work Environment:
- This position is a mix of office and warehouse activities with some work outdoors, subject relative extremes in temperatures relative to weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Position can be moderately and physically demanding and will require loading and unloading of trucks with a forklift
- Participate in safety and compliance training programs
