Job Description Overview: The position of Customer Service Representative performs a variety of important customer-focused responsibilities and is essential in helping coordinate customer support activities within The Teff Company. You’ll be joining a fast-growing company working to deliver high quality teff and teff-based products to consumers and manufacturers.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service experience for all customers
  • Respond to customer incoming inquiries in a timely, friendly and professional manner
  • Identify customers’ needs, clarify information, and provide solutions and/or alternatives
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and familiarity of all products
  • De-escalate situations involving dissatisfied customers, offering patient assistance and support
  • Collaborate with other Customer Service Representatives to improve customer service
  • Create, process and manage sales orders, invoices, payments and returns
  • Coordinate scheduling orders and shipments with Production and Logistics Teams
  • Manage, maintain and organize multiple email accounts daily effectively and efficiently
  • Contribute to maintenance of customer data
  • Route calls and emails as necessary to appropriate team members

Skills and Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ customer service experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong phone contact handling skills
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt and respond to different types of personalities
  • Experience working in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural environment; Amharic language skills a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • A patient and empathetic attitude
  • Self-motivated, curious and comfortable with ambiguity typical of a small, growing company
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM systems preferred
