Chop broccoli florets into bite size pieces, about 2 inches width and length.
Mix teff flour, garlic granules, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cumin in a large bowl. Separate the mixture by half into two different bowls.
Add oil to a deep fryer or deep pan until it's an 1" deep. Heat to medium heat and hold for 15 minutes.
Add ¾ of the can of soda to one of the bowls of dry ingredients and mix well.
Dip broccoli florets into the wet mixture, then immediately into the dry mixture to coat well.
Place into fryer, cooking each side about 40 seconds.
Remove from fryer and drain on paper towels.
Try tossing with buffalo, or any favorite sauce, before eating.
